The Howl and The Hum - Live Video

Post by Steven Hicken Jr. »

Not long after the new year, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to play on a live video version of "All Your Friends Hate Me" by Leeds/York band "The Howl and The Hum". This was at the time was an unreleased song of theirs but came out on their album today.

The theme was to bring traditional crying pedal steel to the song. They are self described as an alternative/indie band so it was nice to get "country" steel into other genres!

Thanks Andrew! That reminds me, I need to work on some other types of harmonics because they're the only ones I can do

Stephen I've enjoyed watching you grow as a musician, from the "early" days. You guys have a great sound, and if "killer harmonics" are the only kind you know how to do, then keep on doing them. ;-)

Thank you, much appreciated! It was a little difficult to find the balance of overplaying with this as there wasn't a lot of space between the vocals, but they asked for prominent steel.

Thanks Dale! I hope you know how much I've appreciated your support over the years. Crazy that we've known each other on the internet for pretty much 10 years now. 2015 was a different but sweet time of my life.
