New Dekley owner here.

I just bought a used Dekley on the web and I'm looking for information on it. It looks like I missed out on the "The Dekley Information Resource Forum" so I'm asking here. I have a ten-string single neck with 3 floor and 6 knee levers. It has a pad on the C^ neck and serial number 210-0035. Looking to find a year? Any help?

I'm curious to know what the knob and two switches do.

Also, is there a raise on the 10th string? I can't see a nylon tuner.

Evidently the serial numbers listed in the manual will not tell you the exact year. Your Dekley was made between 1977 and Dec, 31, 1979.



In 1980 Dekley switched over to the Slimline model, which was lighter than the earlier Dekleys. The bodies are made of pakkawood, which is a wood and resin composite, hard as a rock and very heavy. So all the Dekleys made after Jan 1, 1980 have a serial number that ends with the letter "S", except the student model.

The knob is a tone control switched on and off by the toggle on the left. The right toggle has three positions, to the right is off, Middle and to the left seems to be the same setting. I'll have to do more checking as time goes on.

RKR knee lever raises the tenth string up 1/2 step.

This model sports a white ShoBud fret board, it that something a previous owner did?

Yeah, I’ve never seen a Dekley with a fretboard like that.
