All This Drinkin', original Western Swing (Brother Shaw)

Post by Ethan Shaw »

This is from a couple weeks ago, playing an original song I wrote for my Brother Shaw's Texas Swing Revival album. E13 with a high G#. I hope y'all enjoy it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpnlYe9XpNo

Nice as always, Ethan. So, your tuning is:

G#
E
C#
B
G#
E
D
B

Correct?

Nice fluid playing. It is great to see a steeler front the band!

Thanks for watching and the kind words, y'all! Jim, yes, that's the tuning, except that I have F# instead of E as the 6th string.

Enjoyed that Ethan. I've been using that tuning myself lately on my double neck. It's an easy switch from C6 with the grunty cords on the lower strings. Sounds great.
Depending on the song, sometimes I tune the F# down to E (good for Hawaiian) but the F# certainly has great options.

Thanks, I'm glad y'all enjoyed it! Jim, sometimes I tune down the F# to E, too. If you check out one of my Panhandle Rag videos, that's what I'm using.
