Post by Tony Oresteen »

Dies anyone have a routing diagram for a Rick horseshoe pickups 8 string and 6 string?

How much space do they take?

What is the Rickenbacker string spacing?

Thanks!

Both pre & post war have the same rout ... except there is a "surround" that suspends the 1.25" unit ...

The opening in the surround ... is 4.3725" long ... 1.3275" wide ... and the distance between the mounting holes is 4.957"

There is no difference between 6, 7 or 8 string models ... in terms of routing ... string distance varies of course

Rick,

Thank you so much. Just what I needed.

Do you know if anyone has added benders (Certano type) to a lap steel that has a Rick horseshoe pickup?

No benders ... but, forum member Garry Vanderlinde put a whammy bar behind a horseshoe pickup that I made him ... 8)

PS ... I just noticed the width of the bay on the diagram got cut off ... it's 1.58"
