While I'm always sharing the link to Price and Emmons on ACL reprising 'Night Life', I had never see this before.

Looks like the same show:

An Emmons masterclass with almost every technique displayed, it's come at a bad time for me; I was just considering recording my own version here at home and had planned to switch necks back-and-forth.

Hearing this has put that project 'on hold'. Sad

Apologies if everyone's heard this a thousand times. I hadn't.

Doesn't matter how many times your hear Buddy, it's always good to hear him again.

He always makes it look so easy, like there's nothing to it.

That was great Roger, never have seen that, love the vest he was wearing with the 'E' on it.

That's surely the point, isn't it? His talents were prodigious but perhaps his greatest skill was making it look as though anyone could do it.

Such a great right hand! When he hits the octave strings here and there then seamlessly reverts to full chords, then single-notes, and all with such fluidity.

It's a kick-ass band, to be sure (listen to them highlighting the phrasing with him), but I suppose any band with the Big E on board started at a distinct advantage.

I love this clip!
