Great steel guitar instrumental April's Fool Arnette Mills

Post by Rick Campbell »

I post this ocassionally. To me, it's one of the best examples of a steel guitar instrumental I've ever heard. Not only is it just pretty to listen to, it has some really interesting licks for those that like to a figure this stuff out. RIP Arnette Mills

Yes it is. I'd be anxious for some of the guys with a keen ear and knowledge of all the changes to describe some of these licks. This definitely sounds like advanced playing to me. It's one of those tunes that everytime I hear it I pick up on something different.

I agree. He wasn't searching for those fluid sounds,He knew what he wanted and where to get it! Very advanced players like him sure make it look easy.

Indeed his playing was exceptional. I watched many of his videos. All are excellent.
