A/k/a “Love at the Five and Dime.” Oh my, the artistry of Lloyd Green! Was just listening to this (repeatedly) today.

Changed, Frank. Thanks.
I went to musician/songwriter/ producer, Jim Rooney's show last night and he talked about producing that song with Nancy AND Lloyd Green playing on it.

A master of taste, if ever there was one. Every time he touches a steel guitar... whatever comes out of his amp is just right for the song. Of the many skills needed to be a great player, I think that's the rarest of all.

Coincidentally, my band is adding this and we are rehearsing it tomorrow. We are looking at the version with John Prine and Kelsey Waldon singing. I had never heard of it before. I will study this one, and man what a beautiful song! Thanks for posting this.

Of course we all know that Kathy Mattea had a later hit with this song ( perhaps with a little Bruce Bouton on pedal steel)

But Nanci’s original is just so downright pure……

Thanks for the post Chris.

What did he say about the session, Chris?
