McCartney - steel?

What do you think? Every so-often, there a distinctly steel-like phrase, then it sounds like a guitar with overdrive (there's a moment when I thought the keyboard had used a pitch-shift, then I wasn't so sure).

The video footage couldn't be more annoying if they'd tried so no discernible glimpse of a steel (apart from a moment, perhaps?) At 1' 53" there's a quick shot of a six-string guitar neck perhaps being played with a slide but it's literally about a millisecond and I'm not sure.

Here it is; not a bad performance all 'round, even 'though he's far from my favourite singer. Here and there, it sounds steel-like for just a moment then? Not so much.

I’m wondering if it could be a keyboard patch doing those bends. Sometimes it sounds like a Clavinet, but then will bend into notes. I was in a band with a guy who had something similar on his keys.

That's all just bending strings on a guitar.

I believe that is Robbie McIntosh on the Telecaster. Formerly of the Pretenders, a very skilled player who would have no problem doing wide pedal steel type bends.

It seems obvious now and yet, there's that momentary shot of an electric guitar being played 'a la Thumbs Carlille'. But yes, just a good Tele player executing a decent facsimile of steel guitar.

I saw that, and after careful study, it doesn't look like he's playing it. Looks more like he's putting a string on.

I am hearing a track and definitely not the band playing live..There are multiple guitar and steel parts played simultaneously....The give away that there is a steel on the track happens at 2:25...That is where the steel guitar starts playing harmonics complete with an octave slide while the guitar is playing rhythm parts underneath...There are simultaneous rhythm steel parts going on throughout while several guitar parts happen. More parts than one man could ever play on any instrument.
