Aaah Yeah Rog. That's a great song and you knocked out the solo. Good to hear it again. Nice job by Ginny. I heard it years ago by the song writer but I won't go into that now.

Thanks, you guys. It's pretty rudimentary (and I got a bit sloppy with the V/P at the top of the solo), but it's in tune, anyway.

I appreciate the comments and will step aside; it's Buddy Emmons' birthday and a day to listen to the very best.

Roger.. nice!. No flies on that act!. WHY ever move on to any other brand when you had a great sound like that??... VERY sweet sounding steel guitar, like just about any ZB I have ever heard!.. Loved your playing >.. bob

I think I fundamentally assumed the ZB was 'old technology' (I used to get problems in the studios with undercarriage noise) so I went to a Pro-111. That kept breaking pot-metal KL parts so I gained little.

I was still playing this ZB when I met and toured with Jimmie Crawford (Slim Whitman Tour); he said; 'Wow! An old ZB - I bet it sounds great!' He ended up jury-rigging the 9th-lower and teaching me how to use it for maj 9ths, etc.

After the Sho-Bud I went to LeGrandes and, aside from a few missteps along the way, they've been my go-to guitar. I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't have given that ZB a better chance, though.

Here's that tour: I'm on the Martin D-28, Jimmie's on his JCH, Harold Bradley, no less, was our band-leader and there's a slender Any Reiss on guitar. My ZB is on the left.

FWIW and possibly useless trivia, the Homestead song was co-written by Duncan Cameron. Duncan primarily known for his guitar playing skills, played on the Amazing Rhythm Aces LPs in the mid to late 70s following Byrd Burton.

He also sang and played pedal steel on this tune on one of the ARA Lps.

Some folks might know him better as the guitar player who replaced Bobby Randall with Sawyer Brown in the 90s who also did this song.
