I've Got A Mansion - C6th
Tried making it a little "Swingy" not sure I did cause I might not know the
correct definition of the term.

Thank you RogerRoger Crawford wrote:Sounds like you have a very good handle on “swingy”! Marvelous job.

Thanks Larry... yeah that chart is a bit busy, but that may be due to me basically putting in every chord I think I'm using and I probably don't need to do that. I get somewhat confused when chords can be called different things though they contain the same notes. I also don't know enough about music notation or timing things, so there's some trial and error going on to try to make it sound with timing hesitation things like I did in a couple places here.Larry Dering wrote:Dale, that was some serious swing. Fantastic job. Bring a whole new feel to a tired old song. I'm loving it. That chart looks wicked busy.

Thanks Cat, I appreciate your encouragement.Steve Cattermole wrote:Hey Dale, sounds great. You keep getting better and better. It's a joy to listen to your tunes.I get a little confused about what chord I'm playing sometimes also.
I get a little more familiar with where I'm at all the time, but I'm not fast at especially when it comes to dim chords or half dim. I come to a screeching halt when I'm looking for the "exact" chord or extension, rather than when I just follow my ear not worrying too much about what its called. Thats a real mental block thing with me.
Detlef thank yo for your kind words, and you have no idea who much I relate to what you said about getting into C6th. I started on an S10 E9th about 1970-72?, and quickly moved into a D10 mostly cause they looked cooler with the extra pedal and knee levers on them.Detlef Webert wrote:Hi Dale,
very nice swingy C6th picking and great sound!
After ~40 years on E9th, it's hard for me to get into C6th chord progressions - perhaps my thinking is somehow going in the wrong direction.
More of the swingy ones are very appreciated.
Keep on swinging!

Sounds Awesome Dale. A lot of the Old Gospel Songs could use a little C6th Feel. Loved listening to it...Eddie

Thank you Eddie ... When I was a kid I had it in my head to learn C6th, thinking it would be fun to take those songs I'd sung and played in Church forever and play them a little jazzy. Took me 50 years to finally do some of that.Eddie Harper wrote:Sounds Awesome Dale. A lot of the Old Gospel Songs could use a little C6th Feel. Loved listening to it...Eddie

Thanks Carl ... we play songs one way for so many years its kinda fun to approach them a little differently.Carl Williams wrote:Dale,
Echoing the positive comments above….you have a unique playing style and it’s inspirational to hear the classic tunes you play with a slight “twist” or in this case…a swing! Thanks as always for sharing ….Carl
