Jaco's Liberty City intro

Post by Marc Muller »

Tried to cover all the horn parts. Quite a handful on steel. Still amazes me all the voicings you can find on a pedal steel. The most difficult voicings, search and you will find. Playing them is another story. Forget about up to album tempo!

Love it Marc, funny thing that you posted, was just thinking to myself today that I hadn't seen you post anything in a while.

Hope you are OK with the storm swell the past days and weeks.

I'm a big fan of Jaco, met him a few times at 7th Ave South in the City, just before he passed.

My favorite song he did with the big band was 'The Chicken'.

Thanks for sharing that!
Regards, Craig

Used to see him at 7th ave s. as well when I got back from Berklee mid 80s. Mike Stern Mondays on Christopher. What a scene. Still active out there in gigland. Just got to use the frypan on Fallon. Playing Dead, Bruce, etc. See you round the Garden state.

Cool stuff Marc. Difficult piece of music to tackle. Good job coping the parts.

Nice bit of exposure Marc, always liked watching and listening to you on the Emeril Show years back.

Aware many might not be aware of this tune, as it's not in the usual steel guitar playlist. Amazing classic by an American treasure.

I love that album, this one with Jaco on piano and Toots on Harmonica is really nice.

Very cool Marc! I was recently thinking that “Three Views of a Secret” might lend itself to a beautiful solo pedal steel arrangement.
