Blue Jade on a newly restored 1974 Push Pull

Post by Nick Krol »

I just got done restoring this guitar so I took it for a test ride with a little bit of one of my favorite Emmons tunes. I welcome any comments or critiques

Very nice.
What amp were you using?
AUTHORIZED PEAVEY, George L's, Goodrich dealer. I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables and Peavey Nashville-Session 112 or 115.

Hi Nick, I recently saw you playing high energy in a local bar. Now I see you playing smooth with feeling. It`s an honor having you as a local friend. Good job on that song.

Thanks Manny!

It was a pleasure seeing you play recently as well. Keep me updated about any similar events in the future.

Bill,

I'm going DI in this recording. Notched out some mids like a 60s Twin Reverb and boosted the high end to bring out that sparkle. I just picked up a session 400 I've been using for gigs though

Nick,

Sounds great. I record direct 99% of the time. I'm continually experimenting with different EQ strategies, etc... I play a '74 PP also. I've got a 74 Twin Reverb that I use, Nashville 400, and Nashville 112. Hope you'll post more.
