YT does not like ad blockers

There is such a wealth of useful songs on YouTube, and I'm probably far from the only one who spends a lot of time on it. Lately, however, the site has taken exception to my use of ad-blockers and frequently is blocking access unless I turn off the blocker.

Obviously that is a fall-back option. But there are a great many here who are more tech-savvy than I am. Is there any quick, easy (and safe) work-around besides allowing ads?

You might consider subscribing to YouTube Premium: ad-free video watching. And you can download videos to watch offline. It also gives you access to YouTube Music and a few other goodies. $13.99 a month.

Doug - thanks! That's something to consider, I was unaware of that option. Obviously I'm hoping for something without cost but sometimes that's just not possible.

I don’t have YouTube premium because I don’t spend a lot of time watching videos, but if I did, I too would prefer a free option.

I use an ad-blocker as my default. I disable the ad-blocker for sites that I want to visit and which require ad-blocker to be turned off. Youtube is one that is in my disabled list. I just put up with the ads because there is a ton of music related stuff on Youtube that I can't get otherwise. Your ad-blocker probably has an option to disable blocking for specific sites. My ad-blocker (Privacy Badger) has that option.

I use AdBlock Plus (free) in Firefox, and don't see any ads. Nor does YouTube complain about it.

Mine is AdGuard and until very recently there was no problem. There IS a disable option, and as Karlis says there is so much on there I want to explore the easiest thing is probably just enable it for that site.

I use the Opera browser with ad blocker enabled, works great on YouTube.

Youtube became much more aggressive against ad-blockers in the last month or so. I run AdBlock and AdBlockPlus extensions in Google Chrome, and I'm no longer seeing the same irrelevant youtube ads ad nauseam.
