Loretta Lynn was a Legend and a Lady!

First, I saw her when I was only 13 years old and it was a package Country Music Show. It was a young Hank Williams Jr., singing his Daddy's songs and Loretta Lynn and Jerry Lee Lewis.

What caught my eye most that night was Don Helms playing Steel Guitar with them. It was the first Pedal Steel Guitar that I had seen. That night I decided that I'd trade my 6 string lap steel guitar for a Pedal Steel someday. Five years later I got my first Pedal Steel.

Loretta Lynn was Country and just what she was. She could sing, write songs, she was beautiful inside and out! I loved her music. She was a Fine Lady!

Prayers for her Family and Millions of Fans! RIP Mrs Loretta!

RIP Loretta, what a ride, what you have done for music is immeasurable. Big thx , peace and prayers to your family.

As iconic legacy artists pass, such as Loretta, nobody is replacing them.

Loretta was indeed the real deal, her entire performing life is a legacy.

Been thinking about Loretta these past few days and before...Seems to me she represented (and was) the kind of American not often seen in public recently--hard-bitten and hardworking, plainspoken, and getting right to the point in just a few one-syllable words. She was an inspiration to anyone who valued family, heart and home, and like so many other country greats past and present, a true friend to steel guitar.

I knew her and Mooney long before she was ever in the limelight.I had a call on Wed. from a fellow who is doing a book and that sure brought my aging brain going. Some great and some (Hmmmmmm). but great times were had.
That steel player in the photo is Roland Smiley her "original" steel player.

Duane B, Bob H. has already been mentioned. I think that’s Don Ballenger (spelling) on acoustic, Dave Thornhill on lead & his brother, John Thornhill playing bass. Can’t recall drummers name. May Loretta Rest In Peace.

We did many shows with Loretta back in the day. I always found her to be a great lady, very friendly and she sure was the real deal. I loved her music !! She was a legend to say the least.

RIP, Loretta and God Bless You and keep you.

Regarding road players, I know that Perley Curtis also played for her, I believe it was after Terry Bethel and Jimmie Crawford.

I read where someone said England lost their Queen and we lost our Queen. Loretta Lynn was definitely Country Music Royalty. My regret was not seeing her in a live concert. What a talented lady. Singer, songwriter and a pretty lady all in one and that is hard to beat. She and Hal Rugg on steel guitar made a great combination. Usually when her songs come on the radio the volume gets turned up. RIP Loretta Lynn and "Thanks" for all the music you left us to enjoy.

Her beautiful voice will still ring endlessly throughout the world where country music takes pride in place.

The angels may have to improve their singing when they hear her lovely country voice. I could imagine her welcome into the halls of heaven with her singing one of her treasured country songs.

Our tremendous loss is their gain but we will meet again.
