Who invented split tuning?

Instruments, mechanical issues, copedents, techniques, etc.

Thank you

Thank you to Scott and Richard.
And for Kelsey, Thanks for the thoughts.
I for one have been drooling over the wonderful Emmons ReSound65 steels you guys are building. Even better it seems than the originals.

I love the SD-10's, but it's tough to decide between the Red or Black. My wife likes the black and you know we gotta listen to the wife!

I've been having issues with very bad right hand tremors and no control over my right hand thumb, index and middle fingers that now make playing almost impossible or I would have already sent a deposit.
Had an MRI brain scan at the VA (Dark places on my right frontal lobe and also on my pons) so they have made an appointment with a neurologist here in town for the 19th so maybe some help there? If so, I will place an order.

I wish you guys all the success that you deserve with the new Emmons company.
I can only imagine all the work and money you have had to pour into that and we all know nobody ever became a millionaire building pedal steel guitars. It has to be for love.
Best wishes,
Andy :D

how great that we still have Big E's posts to remind us of his endless knowledge, class and humor.

and we've finally got the book that so many of us badgered him about for years!
life is good.
Where is my book? I ordered it a few months ago from Amazon and still have not got it.
Well at least it something to look forward to! :D

Andy, I pre-ordered the “Emmons“ book from Amazon too. I believe they’ll be releasing it for their customers this week.

Are you in Saigon or Oregon these days?

I don’t have your phone number, but I’d love to chat with you. Give me a call sometime if you feel like it… Tony

I ordered the book directly from U. of I., and it came relatively quickly.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

I ordered through Amazon and I'll admit it's been frustrating hearing that others already have their copies.

However, it's clearly a very good read and there's no time-expiration on the wealth of quotes, thoughts and anecdotes within.

I still have it to look forward to. :)

Since the topic has drifted , my understanding is the hardback version should be coming from Amazon about now. I believe the books received already are direct from the publisher and are paperback. Mine was and I dont remember if they had the hardback available a month ago when I ordered it. I have an order on Big A for the hardback but couldn’t wait. :D

Andy,
Thank you so much for the kind words, it means the world to us! I certainly hope you can get some relief for your hand, I can only imagine what a terrible thing it is to try to work with.

I hate to hear of the delays on the book delivery from Amazon, it's seems those ordered from the publisher have been timely though; I have the ebook, and my hat is off to Steve for his outstanding work!

Incidentally, Buddy covers split tuning in the book in regard to his legal wranglings with the company, his statements from his personal memoirs are in agreement with what he had posted here as well.
