Trumpet Effect
Has anyone ever come up with an effect or combination of effects to simulate a trumpet? I've tabbed out the trumpet licks for Johnny Duncan's "Stranger". Right now I'm just going up and down the neck using just strings 3 and 4. It sound kinda ok but I'd like to get closer if possible.

The old-school approach is to use an octave-up fuzz, along with adjustments to the input level and tone settings. Some pedal candidates include Clean Octave Blend, Octavia, Green Ringer, and Foxx Tone Machine. With practice, it can also be done with a basic fuzz such as a Fuzz Face or BossTone.

That's a very open and natural trumpet sound. Synthetic horns are likely to be too fuzzy. I would play it straight. It's the style that says trumpets as much as the tone.
