fender 400 front sticker logo

i have a mid sixties fender 400,does anyone know where i can get a replacement silver and black logo sticker for the front?mine is long gone.thanks graham

Two alternatives...

Try and find an old silver decal, spray-paint a black rectangle on the front of the steel, and then add the decal.

Or...use one like this, from http://www.tubesandmore.com

It's a close approximation of the original, only it's a thin aluminum older-style amp nameplate. No, I wouldn't screw it to the guitar! What I would do would be to cut off some small universal-head rivets, glue them to the corners of the nameplate (with krazy-glue), and then affix the nameplate to the front of the guitar with double-faced tape or silicone adhesive (RTV).

I don't think anyone sells the right size decals for a Fender 400.
If you have a good picture of a Fender decal and some sort of Photoshop program on your computer, you could always make your own.

I thought you were talking about the waterslide decal, but you need the metal plate logo.
You can get one made at a trophy store.

Bobbe does not have them. I asked him last week. He does have the pedal rack decal, though.

The photo, then printing a sticker is the best solution, I think. FWIW I have done many waterslide decals, and they do NOT work over dark-colored materials. The name "Fender" would be essentially "clear", with the black part printed on the decal paper. Put it on a black-framed 400, and "poof!" - the whole thing disappears.

I'm going to try shooting a pic of my 400 plate tomorrow in good light and then printing it on matte photo paper in the correct size...if I get time. If it works (and I get time!) I'll post a pic of the result, and email the graphic to whoever wants it. I just need good daylight to do it - flash will screw it up.

If I can really nail the pic I can check and see what a trophy shop would charge for a bunch if anybody thinks they want some - it wouldn't be worth checking out for 2 or 3.

Arvil Shepherd of Mt. Airy NC has a way to make these using ultra-thin vinyl with some space-age adhesive on the back.The lettering can be "stuck" to the nameplate or even to a clear backing which can then be "stuck" to the guitar. He needs a good, clear photo plus some kind of overall reference dimension. He then cleans it up digitally and sizes it. You only get one try at sticking it in the right place!! He cautions about applying these on painted surfaces as any attempt to remove and restick will pull paint!! He can fill you in on all the details. . .1(336)352-3182. He works out of his home/studio/shop. You can get many of these on each sheet.
