If anyone feels that they have been sold any bars with retained austenite or improperly aligned crystallites, I will be happy to run x-ray diffraction texture and stress analysis for you at minimal charge. Please send any and all defective candidates (preferrably those with sapphire insets) to me here in MA at your earliest convenience.

How do they feel regarding weight etc compared to a standard bar, such as an Emmons
or an Ernie Ball? If this makes me sound better I'll take one.

If it makes me sound GREAT,,,I'll take two,if it makes me sound better than anyone,I'll buy the factory...let me know the feel and weight..Joey,do you think I could lift one? No I dont mean steal one,,I mean Im weak and I dont need a big heavy thing.

let me hear from someone. I would be interested in a 10 string bar and an 8 string bar if thats's available..help.

Hi Jody:
Ed Packard visited me here in Nova Scotia
a few years ago and he let me try a Zircona
Bar. It was a 7/8". I found it light as
compared to my BJS 7/8" . He passed me the
1" and it matched the weight of my BJS
pretty well but that is not my size.
I did not buy one and maybe I should have thinking back.
Somehow it bothers me psychologically to think that when we don't use a steel bar it is not a Steel Guitar anymore

I would use one for my Dobro however.
They are very smooth.

Thats what I wanted to know,it seemed like an
act of congress to get anyone to answer a simple question. I appreciate your comments.

Jody.. I would like additional info on them.
I have 12 brand new "Black Rajah" bars that I had from my days at Fender. I wouldn't sell
any one of them..Thanks again Roy.

I've always felt we should change the name. "Pedal Steel Guitar" is too complicated for most people to learn.

I propose we change the name of our instrument to TIFKATPSG (The Instrument Formerly Known As The Pedal Steel Guitar.)

I would buy a 1 bar if either 7/8 or 1 inch diameter. Prefer 10 string length but 12 string would be OK too. Or maybe a compromise length. Will pay up to $200, hey you only live once.

Mike - If a guy plays a dobro, lap steel, and pedal steel. What do you call what he plays? Probably "Steel Guitar".

That's what we should call it. Or if it is pedal guitar, we should call it "Console Guitar" .

This would probably bring it more into the main stream. I remember my old D8.

Gibson called it "Console Grande Guitar".

I'll take one of those Zirconia bars, 10 string, as I use a 10 string on both 10 and 12 string guitars....Happy Holidays..al
