Shenandoah arrangement on E9, GFI S-10 Ultra
An arrangement I recently did on E9. Prior to owning this GFI I never had the knee lever that raised the 1st (whole step), 2nd (1/2 step) and 7th (whole) strings. It opens up a lot of possibilities! I do miss the solid 1/2 stop on the 1st and 7th but am willing to live without it considering what can be had with the 3 string change.
If anyone would like tab just let me know... Hope you enjoy. Thanks. Eric

PS - here's looking forward to getting out and playing live again soon!!!!!

Many thanks for the kind words!
I have the stock GFI III pickup.
The studio set up was kind of different for me this time
As I normally go direct.
We ran two amps in stereo- amp 1 was my trusted Evan’s
And amp 2 was one I’ve never used prior for a
Steel application- Magnatone Varsity.

Hi all, to the folks that requested the tab please send me your email address in a message since it appears that I cant attach a file to the messages or replies. I have the tab in a MS Excel file and will have to send it as an attachment to an email.
If you don't use Excel I can dump it into MS Word.
If you don't use either I'll figure something out....
thanks in advance. Eric

Hello again Jack, I have to note that I made a typo in the reply regarding the pickup in the guitar - its the GFI II not III. Eric

That did sound great. I'm also impressed by the tone of your GFI. My 2021 Ultra has the GFI III pickup and though it sounds fair, I find it a bit too bright especially on the high E string 4. I'm considering a pickup swap. I have a GFI II on another steel, but also a spare E66 and a Lawrence 705. Opinions?

Hi Gents, apologies for not sending out tab or posting replies sooner. Just off the road and haven’t been Forum diligent. First off thanks for the kind words. I love the GFI for sure.
Larry Dering - as far as pickups go - there are a lot of variables as you know. For instance my ShoBud has Bill Lawrence pu’s and it sounds great through the Nashville 400 but IMO not as good through the NV 112. An fyi - my Goodrich VP has that impedance circuit and that makes quite a difference. But again IMO the Evans amps really bring out the sound of that guitar. I can’t say enough good things about GFI’s!
John McClung - thanks for pointing that out about the comment part of YouTube- I didn’t realize the default was set to off. I’ll get tab right out to you.
John Sluszny and Mark Eaton - I’ll get tab out asap.
Thanks again. Eric
PS - I should have more audio available of the GFI and dobro soon. Awaiting release of some albums I played on recently
