Adobe Flash Player end of life

Post by Brint Hannay »

I got a message on startup of my computer announcing end of life for Adobe Flash Player. Apparently I have Flash Player now, because I have been prompted on startup numerous times to update it, which I have. But I have no idea if FP matters to me. I've never consciously used it, but is it involved in functioning of websites, e.g. YouTube? What is its function?

No modern web content is produced with and for Adobe Flash. It is old and outdated technology, long past its death date. Windows Update will be removing Flash from Windows 10 computers over the next month and Adobe is ceasing all updates after December 31.

Anybody who has a Flash driven website needs to remake the website using HTML 5.0 and remove all Flash videos. Any 100% Flash website will be totally unviewable to visitors without Flash plugins.
