Larry you put a chuckle and a smile on my face with that... thanks for the nice compliment... One day C6th will make more sense to me than it does now, and I'll spend more time on the back neck... I obviously love the C6th sounds, they just make more sense to me on the front neck.

Dale really nice playing! For me having played a D10 for 45 years, those voicing on E9 are not intuitive. As for C6 they fall naturally to me. You might look up some of my "Short Tab" arrangements to see where those chords are on C6 and learn the same phrasing there. Or not! I enjoy what you do regardless. JS

John that's very kind of you, thank you... For me everything revolves around that 9th string... I still remember when I discovered it some 45 years ago, and it flipping a switch in my head, even though it wasn't being lowered way back then... however, since lowering it both a half and a whole as well as raising it a half, I use it entirely differently now, with more extensions with 6th and Maj7th and 13th... C6th is REALLY where I'd like to be, as the feel is different from E9th, I just never connected in the same way as I did up front, and since the E9th seems easier that where I spend most of my time. Maybe with this ADDED time with Shelter In Place stuff, I'll try to concentrate on the back neck... If you have a link to your Short Tab, I'd love to look at it, and again Thank you for your kind remarks.

Great job Dale,I like every song I've heard you play.Always in tune and beautiful tone.As for C6,you should give it a try,I think you would be like a kid in a candy store,fat jazz chords everywhere.Check out Herb Steiner's C6 essay,he shows what chords he gets with the different pedals and knee levers and combinations.It was a huge help when I started on C6.If I played E9 like you I might have never taken up C6,but I'm glad I did....Have fun, Steve Catt

WOW Steve... you made my day... I haven't made sense of C6th YET... but lately am trying to spend more time with it... it REALLY is where I'd like to be playing... hopefully one day it will make more sense and I'll be able to find all those chords that seem easier for me to find on E9th... John, because I'm SLOW... those Chords are achieved if you just Grab a handful of Strings, not any specific strings?

Pretty much all the notes in each position will be in harmony. The melody will usually be in there and often move with the kls. C6 with D on first string. Try it,your ear will guide you!

Stumbled on to this as I haven't been sleeping most of the night . Since this was first posted and the encouragement to give C6th more effort than I have been, after close to 50 years I finally have done just that and having a ball with everything learned. NOW, I'm going to go back and look at your chart more closely John as now it makes more sense to me... Thanks again
