Hey Ken,

Those are standard 705s with custom machined polished aluminum surrounds. They normally meter out at 20K but I have not broke out the Fluke to see yet.

I am nearing the assembly stage so I was setting parts around tonight taking a peek at what's to come. The Customer wanted a old Violin look so the color and trim are reminiscent of an old fiddle. Classic Red Belly look sets the underside off nicely. More to come...

Question

Hi Mike, Gorgeous! Was therea change of heart on the front apron finish?? The early pre finish photos show striping and more flame. Cannot be seen in the last pics.

Really beautiful! Thanks as always for sharing.

No change of heart but the customer wanted dark color and trim. As you know dark color can hide figure. It is there for sure but the lighting was not good when snapping pics...

The Violin look is exactly what the customer asked for. I think the finisher nailed it :)

Yup the new shots of the front apron tell the story! The apron seemed deceptively dark in the first shots, but now all is illuminated.

Molto perfecto!!!! Bella bella!

Absolutely immaculate work. All metal polished to perfection. I'm particularly impressed with having the Emmons logo inlaid vs. a sticker. Such a source of pride for both you and the owner. Just gorgeous.

....also the chrome 705s. You must have a good source for those rare boys.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Shop has slowed a little for now due to Corona and my (Real) job. I hope to have Layla tuned and rodded by next weekend. I thank all who have commented on this guitar...

That is a part that I machine and use the the 2nd string half stop. There's more to it than you see right now.

Will you be posting pics of the mechanism after it's installed?
I have an old P/P and am interested in any new half stops.Cheers
