Its nice to see so many appreciative comments on that Youtube performance. They outweigh the stupid one many times over.
On the subject of the Internet's democratization of stupidity, we have to remember that it wasn't much better before the Internet, when whole nations could be fed the most heinous lies without contradiction.

Yes, I suppose one can "play" it on an acoustic guitar with some substitute for a regular steel bar. But it wouldn't sound anything like what you got there, Doug. And I don't see the point of saying it unless it's to be a deliberately annoying smart-ass.
So I wouldn't reply either. It wouldn't do any good anyway - you can't fix stupid.

Earliest known reference to this that I know about is Steven Keats playing a gun runner in Bob Mitchum's movie "The Friends of Eddie Coyle", set in Boston 1973. Great quote, though.

Perhaps the best response would be none. Why dignify such an ignorant comment with a serious answer?
But if I could play like you do, I would be tempted to pull out an old acoustic, raise the nut, string it up for C6, pull out my trusty nail clippers, set up my recording gear, and play an abbreviated version of Apache. Then I would post it with an effusive response thanking the rube for the suggestion.

Doug forgot?
All I can add is that I have three of Doug's tab books. Have not used them as much as I should have!

But he forgot the mention in any of those very good tab books about the toe nail clipper alternative!
Like me, I think he also didn't consider the broom part of the gig.
BTW, Thanks Doug, They are good, but I find myself drifting into other tunes every time something in the books reminds me of another song a lick you tabbed would work in. Being dyslectic I have the same problem with reading too!
