Lawrence PU identification ?

Post by Bill Hatcher »

I am trying to ID an older Lawrence pickup. Probably either a 605,705 or 710. Chrome looking plastic body, two blades in black bobbins, two conductor wire, a little more than 15K imp. thanks
[This message was edited by Bill Hatcher on 27 February 2006 at 05:21 AM.]

It would not be a 710. They are black with two rows of poll pieces.

I am not familiar with the 605, but it does sound like it resembles the 705

I used to have a spec. sheet on the "05" pups, but I can't find it. The chrome and black 605, 705, 805's were all the same in appearance. Anyway, I believe the DC resistance was more like 19,500K on the 705 and a really heavy 29K or so on the 805.

I believe the readings on yours make it a 605.

Early on, there was a 505 but I don't believe it was ever produced in anything other than a rosewood cover.

Bill, It sounds like a 705 in appearance. I really don't know the resistance on a 705.

While we are on the subject has anyone tried a 705 in a Emmons p/p?
They sure sound great in a Sho-Bud.
