Hi Scott, I did Atlantis last year ——-> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvTWpCgs524
I’m not too happy with this one though. The tone of the Emmons lap steel is not what I hoped it would be. I should have played the song on one of my older guitars.

Thanks Jesse! This has been my most popular video by far. It reached 1 Million views in just six weeks. That's mostly because YouTube has been featuring it as a "recommended" video to viewers. I appreciate all of the views and the kind comments.
I can tell by the YouTube comments that the vast majority of viewers are not steel guitarists. They're mostly folks searching for oldies, surf music, instrumental music, 1960s music, etc. Many of them don't even know what instrument I'm playing... but they like it. That's good though, because it brings the steel guitar to new audiences worldwide. Always a good thing.

Doug it is great that something from the very niche world of Lap Steel Guitar as been such a success in the real world. I have to mention that to me it has come from the right person. Back a few years ago when I was considering trying to play Lap Steel Guitar it was your videos and books that inspired me and hopefully put me on the right track to play as well as I possibly could.
This video is a very well deserved mark in the sand for Lap Steel Guitar and I look forward to more coverage for the instrument that has too long been lying in the neglected corner of modern music....A big thumbs up!
Mike

Thanks Mike and Keith. For me, the most gratifying part is knowing that millions of viewers are seeing and hearing a steel guitar, many for the first time. As I mentioned earlier, I can tell by the comments that the vast majority of the viewers are not steel guitarists and are probably not musicians at all.
I'm working on a version of Pipeline now. I hope to record that in the next couple of weeks.

I saw it too many times.
Think I may be responsible for at least 20 views.Doug Beaumier wrote:I just wanna mention that today this video hit 4 Million total views on YouTube! That's one year (and two weeks) after posting it.
Congratulations on 4 million well deserved views.
I for one have enjoyed your approach to many songs over a long time.
Thanks for all.
