Here is the before photo
Another before photo with all the metal removed.
This isn’t the final product but it will give you a general idea of what we are trying to do.
The old rope inlay came apart while stripping the cabinet. We had to replace it with the new inlay

Ernie, Here’s a couple of photos of your Pro-I cabinet. I will do a final polishing with McGuire’s swirl and scratch remover but this is about as good as it’s going to get. Albert Johnson gave me a lot of help and guidance on this job. We both agreed that this guitar was in sad condition. Considering what we started with, I happy with the results.

Bill, I got the blue stain from Stewart-MacDonald. The stain concentrate was diluted with dentured alcohol. I also used their green stain on Doug Meyer’s LDG.
Jay, I got the inlay from Constantine’s. I found them by doing a search. I had an expert guitar maker and repair man install the inlay for me. I wanted to replace the original rope inlay but my search for it was futile.
I might add that this will be my last refinish job. The old water release decals are almost impossible to get. I would like to thank Duane Marrs for selling me the ones for Ernie’s guitar. They were the peel off and stick on type. I like the old water release ones better.
Thanks for the positive comments.

Here is the latest update on Ernie’s Pro-I. The guitar had two knee levers, both on the right knee. Ernie wanted a standard Emmons setup so all 5 knee levers are newly constructed. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference in these and stock Sho-Bud knee levers.

This is another photo of the guitar.

When the mule train arrives with the changers, I’ll get this Sho-Bud finished so Ernie can play some sweet music.

Ernie picked up his guitar this morning and played it over at Jimmy Powell's steel show. Here is a photo of him with his Pro-I on the stage. I think we have another happy Sho-Bud owner.
