Well I decided to spend a little more of my kid's inheritance and get me a new MSA Millennium to keep my new Legend, and my old Classic SS company. This is "The Patriot". This guitar was in the MSA room at ISGC, and it caught my eye when I first walked in the door. I have a couple of American flag motif six string guitars so I needed a steel to match.
I used to travel a lot overseas and got to see how a lot of the rest of the world lives, and what the American Flag stands for really has a special place in my heart. I love this Country.
I only got it on Thursday so I really haven't spent much time seeing if I can tell any difference in the sound or sustain of the Millenium (carbon fiber body) versus the Legend (wood body). I'll post more on that later. What I could tell the first time I sat down to it is that it plays and sounds fantastic just like the Legend. Now my dilemna will be deciding which one to play.
As with the Legend, Johnny Cox set this guitar up perfectly for me. Thanks MSA guys for another great product. Now about that Superslide, oh well, I guess I should wait a while.
Tell us if it has any Cabinet 'flutter', Darvin... Now you'll have to tab-out Stars and Stripes Forever!
For serious, though, a unique design on a uniquely modern steel. Who is the airbrush(?) artisan..nicely done!

Mike, I really can't tell much difference in the Legend and the Millennium. Both guitars are set up identical, and the Legend is about 5 lbs heavier than the Millennium. These come with a heavy duty, flight case with wheels which weighs about 28 lbs. The Millennium in the case weighs about 67 lbs.
The Legend has the BL XR16 pickups on it and sounds really good. The Millennium has George L's TW pickups on it and sounds equally as good. The Millenium may have just a little more sustain, but there is very little difference. Last night at church, I played a couple of songs on E9th with the BL pickup, then changed to the TW pickup for a couple of songs. The TW may be just a little brighter, but there was very little difference. This is a nice feature on these guitars, it takes about 2 seconds to change pickups.
I got lots of comments on this guitar yesterday, mostly from people that wouldn't notice an Elephant behind the pulpit, but they noticed this guitar. It is really beautiful and plays just as good as it looks.
WOW!!! That has to be the ONLY one in the world as cool as your new MSA!! MSA is the most creative steel builder's and with Johnny adjusting it to utmost perfection...unbelievable steel guitar.
Darvin...don't leave your door to your music room unlocked at night or I will be over for a 'visit' if you know what I mean! HA HA
Congratulations to you and MSA.
[This message was edited by Bill Simmons on 07 October 2005 at 09:57 AM.]

I love my Country and the Flag that represents it. I have done quite a bit of travelling out of the country and there just ain't no place like the good old USA. Here's my trio of Patriot guitars.
