Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

It, and a lot of other stuff I will remember fondly from my participation in the Texas Progressive Country scare back in the 70's, is in an exhibit currently at the HOF called "Outlaws and Armadillos." I may have to make a trip up there to see the whole exhibit.

Let me tell you, Craig... If I'd known it was going to come to this, I would have thought twice about becoming a legend.
(Actually, my most favorite line I ever heard Buddy Emmons say. Thanks, E )
But seriously, I'm probably well-known in certain circles for a few things I did decades ago, and my achievements then I feel were modest ones. I have been friends, and sometimes close friends, with REAL legends. And trust me, if I'm a "legend," the bar for membership status is very low.

Great quote from Buddy, but really Herb, as a dumb 16 year old kid from Jersey being introduced to the records you played on (Michael Murphy, Jerry Jeff, etc.) you made more of an impact than you know. Enough for me to go to Texas for college and get involved in music there. So, enjoy the praise, you deserve it.
And Happy Memorial Day!
Regards, Craig

Superb, Herb!
Congratulations on your well-deserved recognition in this ultra-cool Hall of Fame exhibit. As Buddy would say: "Uncommonly."
