What a shame... Daryle had one of the best traditional country voices since George Jones. Here's "I Never Go Around Mirrors" in his memory. Rest in peace...

My wife just saw on the Country Rebel website that he died of a massive heart attack. Don't know if that is accurate.
RIP Daryle. One of my favorites. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open E slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

He played his last show at Cowboys in Lafayette Louisiana. Our band was asked to open the show but we had other commitments! There is a video on Facebook of him doing his last song of the night! RIP It's going to be hard for me to take the stage at Cowboys again! _________________ Rittenberry Prestige(2) |

This is really tragic!
I will never forget meeting Daryle a few years ago in Charlotte Harbor, FL. I was playing in the support band and Daryle was headlining.
I'd heard the records, of course, and had loved the sound of his voice thereon. But when I heard him sound-checking in the empty hall (no band - just him and his acoustic guitar as well as a first-class electric guitarist whose name, I'm afraid, eludes me) I realised that his was a truly exceptional gift - a deeply resonant voice with remarkable skills and dexterity.
I'm happy now that I had a chance to speak with him for a considerable amount of time. He was a humble yet talented man.
RIP, Daryle - you really were one of the very best. _________________ Roger Rettig - Emmons D10s, Quilter TT-12, B-bender Teles and old Martins.

This is terrible news.
My deepest condolences to his family & friends.
One of my favorite later country singers.
Way too young to have to go.
RIP Daryl.

Like most I was shocked and saddened to hear of this. We saw Daryle and band with the great Tyler Hall just a few short months ago and they were amazing. We have lost a true standard-bearer for real country music. Prayers lifted for Daryle's family and for our brother Tyler. _________________ Tommy Detamore

Tragic news. I have had the pleasure of seeing Daryle perform a number of times with 45 RPM in Nashville, and was in awe of his ability to sing authentic traditional country music. He had yet to reach his peak vocally, and at 46 was a relatively young man. My heart goes out to his family and close friends. I still can’t get my head around this extremely sad news. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. I too am in shock to hear about this. Daryle was sucha talented singer. I liked a lot of his songs, that I have listened to, It is so hard for me to say which one was a favorite. One source That I read said he died of a blood clot. But that has not been confirmed, but 46 years of age is way too young. RIP Daryle.
My condolences to the family, and I pray God sends his angels to comtort his family at their time.

Such a sad day I was hoping that he could possibly make country music turn back around. I really enjoyed hearing him sing with Rhonda Vincent. |
