I recently acquired an early 90's Peavey Nashville 400 in a bulk gear purchase. The amp sounds really good and looks pretty clean except for the 3-4" chunk of the rubberized covering that's missing along the front edge of the bottom panel. If anyone knows where I could buy some matching tolex or has a small scrap (about 3"x6") perhaps off of a trashed amp, that they could mail me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
p.s. I know I could just blacken it with a sharpie or some paint, but I thought a patch might look better. Any suggestions?

Hopefully, Some Nice Forumite will send you a suitable scrap. However, here is a thought: If you're not already aware of it, you can get a Package of Tolex Samples (4" x 4", I think) from AES:

FWIW, I have dealt with AES off and on for many years with no complaints.

Randall,
I am going through a Fender amp and have some excess tolex.
If you think the Fender tolex would match the Peavey tolex, I would be happy to send you a piece.

This is great! Thanks for the tip on AES. I needed some tolex for my Vegas 400. Thanks a million. |

This stuff seems to be a bit thicker & grainier than fender tolex, but thanks for the offer Erv. _________________ All Twangs Considered. |

Hopefully Eddie can help you out. If not, let me know. I have some material from a back brace off an 89 NV400 I can send you. I have some scraps from a newer model too and some other odds and ends that I can look through.
There were 3 or 4 patterns of covering on these amps over the years. |

Maybe trim some off the bag that contains the reverb tank. In my N400 it's made of the same tolex. |

Remove the chassis and take a look at the amp's own Tolex that extends around to the inside the cabinet. There might be enough excess harvestable material there to patch a small area. |

Thanks to all the forum members for their offers and sugestions. Jerry Overstreet sent me a small piece that I think is going to work out fine. I'll try to post a picture of the repair when I get it put back together. |
