thesteelguitarist.com - We're Back and need you

Post by Stefan Robertson »

So with the permission of Tom Bradshaw I have been given the go ahead to kick off thesteelguitarist.com.

20 people have been selected by replying to this post.

They will be our in-house BETA testers and their feedback and ideas are always welcome.

The new digital versions will be available in pub format so it can be enjoyed in all its glory with pictures and hopefully audio examples someday as well.

This new site needs YOUR support.

As a young and keen steel player I want to share the love and lives of our members and heroes alike.

All NEW publications and mini posts will be available in the future as well.

So please spread the word and especially legends like Doug or Tommy and others feel free to message me as I will definitely be in touch with more interviews stories etc.

drop me an email at: ilapsteel@icloud.com

Let's keep steelin' alive and to end with a quote from Tom Bradshaw.

"As unlimited to its approach to the steel guitar as is the steel guitar in its approach to music" – Tom Bradshaw

UPDATE:
Tom wants to make the digital versions of his vintage magazine free so I will be co-ordinating the effort.

Which means we will still need testers but a slightly different approach to get the costings down.

I will get back to you to shortly with any further updates.

Thanks Mark and Michael.

I'm excited. Just started the first read throughs and have some meetings next week to see if I can get some sponsorship with local music businesses.

I'll be contacting ALL manufacturers I can of amps, pedals, steels, bars etc. Like how they did in the days of the legends. Then they can assist the cause and advertise and support the project.

I have big plans but it looks like I'll need some backing to take it to the magazine level. Until then I'll have too use the PDF/;ePub format. Apple Newsstand is my end goal. I really want it to be the exact annual subscription model as it was originally. $12 a year for 12 issues. But it'll take some creative thinking and ideas to get my costings covered so I can do that so it'll be easily accessible for the Ben Harper and Robert Randolph generation.

Plus it'll make Tom's hard work reach a new generation.
