The album New Nashville Cats has this on it , with Paul playing a little hotter than this version believe it or not. Plus a whole lot more on the album.I think its Mark O'conner and the New Nashville Cats.

Legitimate questions. If they are not expressing themselves, what are they doing? I think they are expressing that they are the best at what they do. This is what great musicians do for fun.

Musically, it is a fairly interesting piece. I can't be sure about the other solos, but Brent Mason seems to be playing it very similar to the one he plays on the record - which is remarkable in its own way.

The soul of the pedal steel is not being held here. It is being expanded and liberated.

I know some people who think this kind of playing sounds funny. Their opinions are funny.

I do not find it very musical but the level of accomplishment is remarkable. So it does impress me because chops like these take a lot of honing.

There's nothing wrong with including a track like this on an album for the purposes of entertainment but I'm not sure how often I could listen to it.
