thought this might be mentioned by now. it's making the rounds on facebook...
these two titans are together in the studio this week, recording an instrumental tribute to the Sweetheart of the Rodeo album! John Macy is at the helm of the project and my mouth is absolutely watering to hear it.
John, if you need an intern this week... a gofer, bellhop, valet, key grip??? anything at all, just let me know and i'm there!

Both are fairly competent pickers. Should be good.

Thanks, Scott, for keeping the photos current. This a killer project, and only fitting that it's being recorded at Cinderella Sound in Nashville (the place the Black album was recorded...).

Both Lloyd and Jay Dee are recording through Telonics amplifiers, and both amps have the DI out being recorded and both are miced with Neumann U67 tube microphones for maximum tonal choices at mixdown. We used the onboard preamps of the vintage Flickinger console and no compression was used.

This deserves the coolest project of the century award... Hat's off to all...
BTW... do I spy a Clavinet next to Larry in that one pic? Left over from an old Kendalls session, maybe?
