Very cool, Doug - that B9 sound is huge! Not sure what you should call it...something like "lap organ" might violate the Forum's "General Audiences" Rating :)

Yeah, I don't think "steel organ" would work either! :o

Hey Doug, I really like the organ things. I have an EH B9 organ machine too but I've never tried it out on my steel. I bought mine to play the organ sounds on "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harem and I do it with my Telecaster and the B9 really nails the sound. I'm going to work out a way to use it with my steel as well as you've inspired me.. Keep up the good work.......JH in Va.

Thanks, Jerry. Yes, try it on your steel. I remember an old interview of Buddy Emmons where he said "the steel guitar is the best driver for effects of any instrument I know." I agree! 8)

Now I'm going to have to hook my lap steel up to my C9 organ pedal.

Thanks for the B11 tuning info, I've been spending more time playing this tuning and it has a lot of cool features.

Hey Doug, do you remember Virgil Fox and his "Heavy Organ" back in the '70's?

Yes, I remember Virgil Fox and his "Heavy Organ". FM rock stations and college stations played his music back in the 70's. People would get stoned and listen to his live recordings of Bach played on a massive organ! Strange times.

Doug, those chords fit very well to The Beatles "Here There and Everywhere". Must give it a try soon.

Growing up in Philly, this guy was on the air every Sunday throughout my childhood. You could give Larry a run for his money with that rig, Doug!

I even saw Fox play his touring organ live.

He was quite good actually!

Hey Doug? :D
I`ve got a Electro-harmonix "HOG", "Harmonic Octave generator" and It doesnt sound nearly as well as that. Keep up the good work, I am encouraged.(and a little bit envious)

Thanks, Ron. Most of the settings on the B9 sound kind of "churchy" (and that's a good thing!). There is a rock organ setting too. I had an EH HOG years ago. One big difference between that and the B9... the B9 has presets. The user doesn't have to fumble around with sliders, trying to get the sound he's looking for. The sounds are already programed into each setting. Each setting has a different mix of octaves, pitch modulation, or overdrive. A low octave is heard along with the original octave. That makes a simple 6-string guitar sound like a huge instrument. Pitch modulation creates a swirling organ sound. The user can set the rate of modulation fast - slow (wide). It's a lot of fun to play with!

Doug,
I nothing about the HOG but I do have a POG II and is like you talked about. You can get a good organ sound out of that unit but you have to do a lot of fiddling around. I prefer the B9 also. :D
