i`ve played mullen g2 and rp, wbs (german), franklin, emmons pp, gfi, sho bud, sierra and zum.
schild are the best mechanically fur sure. sound is another thing and hard to judge for it`s too much a matter of taste...

I second what Larry Lenhart said. I have tried a lot and I still sound like me. Just recently got a Black Rains SD-10 and am just loving it. Gary Carpenter Built. It just fits and the sound just jumps out there and gets you. Very easy guitar to play as well. And of course Curtis Hogue is still building them and they look and sound the same. J.R.

Probably another Jackson for me. In 2010, I got my current steel, a Jackson Blackjack Custom SD-10, and the tone is similar to Sho-Bud steels. David, Harry, and Dawn Jackson build wonderful steel guitars with wonderful tone, playability, pedal action, and sustain. I became a fan of Jackson Steel Guitar Company in '09 and have been a fan ever since then. When I "roadtested" the Jackson Madison '63 model that David and Harry Jackson brought to a Georgia Steel Guitar Association show in '09, I knew a Jackson Steel Guitar would be in my future.

If money were no object, I'd buy either of the Emmons wrap-arounds on the forum, they would be NEW to me.

The truth is that everybody is making great steels today. If any of us sat down, at 10 different steels with our copedeant, blindfolded so we would not know what we were playing, each of us would say "Wow, this is a great guitar and I want one."
Notwithstanding that I don't need another steel, as long as it had my setup (including the wrist lever,) my only requirement in a new steel would be that it's blue.

What Paddy said. Ive already got them. Im very fortunate. At this point, the weakest link is me.
I still look at the for sale section, just a habit.
Im not a flipper. I cant see myself selling any of the ones I have. It makes a new one less likely, but you never know.
Ive owned and parted with some really fine axes, nothing wrong with them, Im happy to have owned them.
Ive settled on an Infinity , Zum Hybrid, and a Fulawka.
Im sure there are some great guitars Ill never try, and thats great. Ill spend more time playing, and less time shopping.

I will never get rich flipping guitars, but I did had a chance to try over 250 guitars in the last 2-3 years, and I can tell you one thing, there is no bad new guitar being built out there today, from Encore to G2 and all others, they are all first class instruments, and there is just no way for me to pick one ...

Guitars
Well I have a Mullen and a Rittenberry Prestige! My first pick would be another Rittenberry and my second pick would be a G2 and third pick would be Sho Pro! It's probably a good thing I'm not able to attend the Dallas show because I know I would walk out of there with less money than I had when I walked in!

I want 3 new guitars. .... I only need one though.
I would like to have a Mullen E9 S10 to gig with.
I would like a Mullen D10 to play at home.
I want a Show Pro or Desert Rose C6 S10 done in an old style ShoBud finish. The old ShoBud guitars were fine pieces of art in my mind.
But a E9 S10 to replace my 76 MSA D10 as a gig guitar is my only priority.
