Are any of you guys familiar with SaferWeb? If so, what are your thoughts and is it really worth it as an added defense against identity theft hackers?

I think you can form your own opinion by reading the scathing reports about it in this CNET article.

As for me, I won't go near this VPN system. In fact, a lot of attack probes against my websites come from behind proxy servers, such as these.

I should mention the fact that I, like a lot of other webmasters, tend to block proxy server IP addresses that are used to launch evil probes of our websites. There are blocklists published that list these servers in huge groups and are sometimes applied in total. This leads to complete denial of access to people using proxy services to browse the web. Then the paying members of proxy services complain that they can't view the websites they want to see. They do have complete privacy though!
