How do I get rid of the Yahoo search engine - CLOSE
When using Chrome, windows 10, in the middle of the screen there is a search bar that says "powered by Yahoo".
I don't want that, so how do I get rid of it? I found a few sites that tell how to do it, but nothing works. One said to go into "settings" select "extensions" and turn the Yahoo search engine off. There is no extension that says anything about Yahoo. There's no program to be removed in Control Panel. I recognize every program listed. The only software downloaded on this computer, is from the software company's site. Malwarebytes doesn't detect any malware that might be redirecting to another page.
And, a carefully placed shot gun blast doesn't get rid of it either.

Chrome is my default browser, and in the default search engine, I had deleted the entry for Yahoo search engine , thinking that would make it go away. That's the first thing I checked.

And at the bottom of the Yahoo Search page, there is an uninstall link. It just takes you here.

FOUND IT.
I use VLC Player and they pimped a Chrome extension that I thought was part of VLC. It's called VLCcc or something like that. As soon as I disabled that, Yahoo disappeared.
