How do I make a midi click track

Post by Michael Haselman »

I'm making some backing tracks for me and a drummer. Click in the left channel and bass in the right. It's easy on my recorder, I just plug my electronic metronome in. But I'd like to do this in a midi sequencing track. I'm using either my Casio WK-3000 keyboard or Power Tracks on the computer. Is it a copy/paste operation? Probably an easy answer but I can't find it.

very broad question. Does your recorder have MIDI IN/OUT ?

Does Power Tracks have the ability to convert a file to wav or MP3 that can be imported into your recorder ?

What kind of recorder are you using ?

Worst case scenario...like we did years ago ,

Send the stereo out of your keyboard to your recorder inputs, left and right, record your track in real time. Click left, Bass right or vice versa.

Or buy Band In a Box which allows converting your files to wav and moving them into your recorder.

Audacity is free. You can make a click track as long as you wish and convert it to either wave or mp3 and export it to a folder and re use it anyway you wish.
