To me that sho bud looks real clean. Never in a million years would I choose any student model over that bud. Then again I love sho bud guitars so to each his own
Is be pretty surprised to find that guitar to need much tweaking but it is relatively simple for anyone with some mechanical aptitude to deal with.
I don't know much if anything about the stage one though but I have little doubt that you could quickly make all your money back on that bud.
Again, I am biased and love sho bud[/quote]

Shobud for shure. It's going up in value as we sit here and chew the fat. Looks like a nice newer model.

There are quite a few players within 90 minutes of you and if we include our Portland brethren, a whole bunch more. I've learned there are a couple more I haven't met yet from this thread alone :-)

I'd grab that Sho-Bud too. Looks like it has a "Super Pro" undercarriage. Those are real easy to work on. If you can afford it, get both. You mentioned getting the Sho~Bud while waiting for your Stage One. But, the Bud would serve you well.

Seems like the OP wants a guitar to start playing NOW, doesn't want to wait for delivery of a new build. I can understand that.

I got the impression that he has already ordered the Stage One, and has the chance to buy the Sho-Bud now, before the Stage One is delivered. If you have the money, get the Sho-Bud now, when the Stage One arrives decide which one you like the best. Or keep them both if that appeals to you. Good luck!

In most cases, the forum name is their real name and doing a forum search on the name will find them.

More amps than guitars, and not many effects

That's a clean guitar. I think you can buy with confidence. That's the guitar for me, not the other one.

Bob dont get discouraged if you dont get the sound you want out of it right off the bat, i have had many steels over the years because they didnt sound right,,well after 20 years and about 6 or 7 guitars of all brands later i am still in search of the sound i am looking for. the problem is not the guitars, its my tecnique, so dont give up, just practice practice practice,,,my "teacher" past away not to long ago so I am on my own again,,Bobbe Seymour was the greatist in my books,,,

After you get it home is when the sleepless nights start. It will take a tow truck with a wench to pull you away from it.

I wonder if you meant to spell it that way.

It's too late now. It's well know that steel guitars will keep the wench away.

Congrats Bob. But we've got to see it. Without pictures it never happened.
