More Recording Questions Please
Hello All;
I am using a regular desktop computer running Win10..
I want to record some songs off of the internet radio programs that are on the internet -
then burn them onto a CD so I can play along with them..
I would like to keep this as simple as possible because ( we all know ) these computer things
can give a guy a big headache unless you specialize in computer programming which I do NOT..
If you wanted to do what I outlined above as simple as possible how would you do it..
What program do I need to do this?? I would think there is one available - maybe free or reasonably priced?
Let me know what you would recommend please.
Thanks in advanced.
Ron
Mods: If this needs to be in the computer section please move it or let me know...Thanks ..Ron

We need to turn the TWANG up a little
It's not what you play through, it's what you play through it.

You have to have "Stereo Mix" and have it set as the default recording device to be able to record audio from the internet.
The free Audacity recording program is all you need, other than the Stereo Mix.
Most PC sound systems have the Stereo Mix (SoundBlaster calls it "What You Hear") however it may not be enabled. Check the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Panel Recording section.

OK then it has to be Realtek since that is listed.
Would you have a different suggestion for a recording software to do what I want to do?
Thanks .... Ron

The free Audacity does not have too much of a learning curve. You record the song, save it as a wav file on your hard drive. Then create the "Audio" CD and not an MP3.
What CD burning program do you have? If you don't have one the free CDBurnerXP will work.
Audacity
CDBurnerXP
Be alert with downloads. Many have garbage and if you don't uncheck it you could install something you don't want.
