File types in folders
Is there any way to set the default file type for all folders at once. What I mean is, I'll have a folder of Mp3 files, and when I click on one to copy it to another folder/device, it opens the file in Windows Media Player, which is not what I wanted to do. I know I can go into the properties of each individual folder and change the default file type it will hold. But, is there a way to tell Windows that I want EVERY folder to default to general items? Even when I tell a folder that I want it hold general items, I'll left click on a file to copy or move it, and it will fire up Media Player. It's driving me nuts. Well, more nuts than I usually am.
I want it so the files do not automatically play.
Windows 7.

It sounds like you have turned on single click to open files. Follow these instructions to revert to double click.

I'll have to check. I enabled it once, but went in and disabled it. Maybe I did something wrong.Jim Smith wrote:It sounds like you have turned on single click to open files. Follow these instructions to revert to double click.

Have you any ideas why windows explorer keeps taking you to the top of the stack of folders when you click on a folder? Example: When I click on my C, or any other drive, or even a folder under a drive, the display jumps to the top and the folder I opened is now below the bottom of the display. It happens on both my laptop and desktop. This makes me want to put my fist through my monitor.

Might want to open Control Panel/Default Programs and take a look at your autoplay settings.Richard Sinkler wrote:I want it so the files do not automatically play.
