Zum P/P
A while back someone had mentioned that Bruce was designing a Push Pull guitar. Does anyone know if the guitar is being manufactured yet?
[This message was edited by Dennis Manuel on 19 May 2004 at 05:57 PM.]

Everybody is so interested in PP, why don't we have a report on the new Zum PP changer????? How about telling us Randy?
Is it better than the Emmons PP mechanically but with that same great tone????..........al

Just like Bobby said. It is an all pull guitar. You do have to tune the longest raise like a push pull, pedals down and tune at the keyhead. Then let off and tune the open tuning at the endplate with an allen screw. All other raises and lowers tune with nylon tuners at the endplate.
As far as tone? It'll knock your socks off!
I believe it sounds better than a push pull. Unbelievable isn't it. The guitar also plays like a Zum. Easy and positive.

I'm pretty sure Randy has True Tone 17.5's in his guitar.
Randy, I don't know if I'd go so far to say that it sounds "better" than your particular PP, but,,,,I will certainly agree that it is at least as good.
!
Ofcourse, you and everybody else knows that there's not a "predujusted"(sp?) bone in my body.

Bruce, the fact that it tunes the longest raise at the keyhead doesn't in itself have anything to with the tone. The raise finger stops against the body like a push pull guitar, requiring it to tune that way. That does have something to do with the tone.

I've got to be real careful working those knee levers. Those Excaliber hooks are sharp!

Randy & Nick:
I absolutely love it... and yup, those Excaliber hooks ARE sharp. This photo really hits home for me. I'd have to have an N-Scale locomotive in there somewhere as well though.
Speaking of sharp (not in the out-of-tune sense) Bruce builds such great guitars. And Randy's playing is so awesome.
Thanks for the very cool photo guys.
