Question Missing dll

Post by James Quillian »

When trying to run some new vst effect plugins, there an error message saying the following file is missing.

NativeControls5.dll

Does anyone have this file or know how to get it without picking up a virus?

If those plugins don't include that file, use other plugins that do, or do not require it. There is no telling who issued that file and if it is safe. Perhaps it ships with the newest versions of the audio program itself.

That is good advice. Unfortunately, the error messages don't tell what file it goes to. There are about 50 to 100 possibilities. It isn't the end of the world. I just have to click o.k a multitude of times while the program loads.

Try the www.gearslutz.com forum. Someone there may be able to help.

I use Sonar (the new Platinum version) and have several VST's other than what is provided with Sonar but nothing for NativeControl. The add on VST's, such as Melodyne, provide everything needed.

Jack, do you have any plugins you recommend? I use Mixcraft and Audacity but the plugins work on all of them. I have good stuff now but I am always looking for improvement. Mostly I use reverb and compression.
