Eigths

How do I insert chords on eigths in BIB? i.e. a song like statue of a fool where it goes (1 1)(1 7 b7 6) then in the next measure 6b. where the (1 1) takes up two beats, and then the (1 7 b7 6) takes up 2 beats.

I tried it in letter system ex. C,C in the first box, then C/Bb,B/A in the second box, then changed them to the number system. This was the only way I could get it to work for me. Regards, Norm

Thanks Norm. I tried that but it still only gives me quarters and leaves out 2 of the chords. Did you get eigths or quarters. Also I edited my original post because I had the wrong chords.

The only way I can think of doing it is to change the timing to 8/8 time.

Erv Tried to change that measure to 8/8. I've got ver 2011.5 and it only allows me to have a max of 4 beats at that measure. Is there somewhere else to change it? I was able to get it to do the eigths by doubling the tempo on this bar but that screws up the drums. You should be able to do this without a bunch of weird wizardy.

Seems like I'm in a "style rut",,,always go to 3-4 styles (mostly Ray Price),,,get disgusted working through the list of (seems like 1000s) of styles. Anyone have their favorite style for songs like How Great Thou Art, Slowly, Help Me Make It Through The Night,,,,etc?

Give the following a read and see if it makes sense.

So first you need to know the tempo your playing at, and we will call that 80 bpm.
Now you go to the bar/bars you want to make changes to and put the cursor on the bar you want to start at.
In this case it was the first bar. Now R click on the field [where all the chords are] and up comes a dialog box that has lots of choices in it. Do a L click on Bar Settings and up comes another dialog box. In the line that says “Tempo change to” put in 160, which is double the tempo of the song. This will give you a bar that will go by at the pace of 4 eights per measure. So we need another bar to finish making the next 4 eights.
So now we put in the chords on beat 1 and beat 3 with or without a double .. for a shot or a … triple dot for a hold. Now go to the next measure and put in the 4 chords you need, one on each beat, separated by a comma on beats 1 & 2 and again between beats 3 & 4.
Now go to the third measure, do the R click on the field, L click on the Bar Settings and in the Tempo change line, change the tempo back to 80 bpm.
Now, when you play it, it will sound like you just went by a single measure time wise, but will play the chords like eights.
