Rocketab.....

Post by Mike Kowalik »

Is anyone familiar with Rocketab?
When I'm on a retail website like Lowe's or even eBay this pops up with unwanted ads for other sites selling whatever I am searching for.

What do I need to do to get rid of it?

Thank you in advance to whomever responds.....

Mike, you could try Adblock and see if that gets rid of it. I've been using it for a while and a lot of what use to aggravate me is no longer there.

Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

Maybe you could just uninstall it with the Windows Add / Remove Programs?

Mr.Duckworth....I've thought of that and do not find it listed as a Program that has been installed....so it must be hiding under an assumed name.....my virus software does not detect any problems when I run a scan so I don't think it to be dangerous...only annoying.

Malwarebytes Anti-malware will remove Rocketab, which is a PUP, if you select the option to check for PUPs in the custom scan options.

Wiz, I installed Malwarebytes Anti-malware on my computer and did a complete scan and made sure I had it selected to check for PUP's. I was amazed at the number of items it found. It found and remove 32 items that I didn't even know I had. Never had problems with computer prior to this, but it does seem to run a bit faster after the scan. Thanks
