New Rittenberry Prestige..

I got my new Ritt Prestige a few weeks ago, and thought I'd post a few pics to show you what Gary's
building these days.

His new Prestige sports a lacquered under carriage,
jeweled aluminum, round stainless cross shafts, quick
change bell cranks, and full width sound post/changer
stops; just to name a few.

Excellent clarity and string separation. The highs
are crisp and crystal clear, but not harsh. GREAT
mids that to me are bold and crunchy, and very pleasing. Typical of Gary's guitars are the mechanics and fit & finish. Mechanics are smooth and effortless. And, craftsmanship is always top notch.

This is my 3rd. Rittenberry. And, for me. this
guitar has it all! Thanks Gary !!!

Very nice guitar. I have one on the way. Should be here in May. He builds a great guitar and is a total gentleman to boot.

I own a regular ritt.I love it.this prestige is more of the classy pedal steel in the world.

Beautiful Ritt, i can see that there is a few extra spings on the bottom in front of the changer, could you tell us what they are for? Thanks

Thanx to all for your kind words about the Rittenberry. It performs as well as it looks, too.

Mark: When you get yours, I'm sure you'll love it.

Ronnie: It IS a fine looking guitar. Some of the changes that I mentioned in my post were the result
of a long process by Wayne Dahl and Gary to
produce "the tone" they wanted.

Roger: Those are raise assist springs. They make the pedal operation easier and smoother... allows you
to feel the pedal stops really well, too.

Hey Scott - somehow I missed your post. Great looking guitar! I have a black SD-10 Prestige that I took delivery of last September. It is hands down the best guitar I have ever played. Gary and Wayne's design combines precision mechanics and action with unbelievable tone and sustain. I see an extra knee lever on your RKL. What is your setup?

Great looking guitars Scott! They sound great too. They also sound unique with a tone all their own. I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Peewee Charles' Prestige and liked every bit of it!

I sent Gary an email a couple of days ago expressing interest in a D-10 and enquiring about pricing. No reply yet so I hope he received the message.

If anyone's in regular contact with him could they give him a nudge, please?

Hey Roger, best thing to do is give him a call. I've inquired about a gtr. to him thru email, & he does answer but takes some time.

I heard from Gary. Unfortunately he's not taking any new orders for 'at least eight months'.

That's a pity - I'd almost persuaded myself that this was to be my next new steel.

it's interesting that so many steel guitar companies are basically one man operations(?) that can't accomodate the demand that their good products develop. ...emmons, zum, infinity, franklin, rittenberry etc.
actually impressive the number of steels bruce zumsteg could produce in 30 years (by himself?)...no wonder he wants his life back at this point.

Mullen seems to be the only steel guitar manufacturer that you can order a new guitar from without a long waiting period.

I'd decided on either a Rittenberry or an Infinity but it appears I'm stymied. I know there's no logic to my prejudice but I hate those thin-looking endplates on the Mullen (as well as those ugly fretboards!!
