Shots?
What notation is used to enter in two shots on the first quarter note, resting on the second quarter note with everything back to normal starting on the 3rd 1/4 note?

Yes there is Howard, the icon's pic is a quarter note which opens up a an area to enter said adjustments. But, I still need someone to hold my hand with specifics as I have been unsuccessful...
I guess its time to pop a bold red to commiserate...

Gary,
You found the right place. You have to "edit notation" . It's too much to explain here, but I suggest trial and error and I think you'll figure it out. Keep in mind that edits to midi will not be saved using the normal song save command and will revert back to the original when you regenerate the song. You'll have to experiment with a work around for this. I always drop the individual midi files into my DAW and do the editing there. Same for Real Tracks. It gets complicated, but very fun to do.

Gary,
If I understand what your trying to do, it can be done without getting into the notation changes. If it's for the stop in "pop a top", just enter the chords in the first half of the bar with a ".." (periods) Separated by a "," (comma) then where you want the rest, put one period. (see the other post in this section about rest) Example:
C..,C.. C.
You said Db. It really doesn't matter with BIAB. You can change it to any key later. As a matter of convenience, I usually enter the numbers (BIAB will understand and convert them to chords based on whatever key you're in) or enter the song in a basic key like C or G that's easier for me to think about in my head, then change it later. Hope you've got a good shuffle beat style for "Pop A Top"
Check your PM for my email address. if you want to send me what you have of the song, I'll try to fix that part for you.

Rick,
Pop-A-Top and referencing Db was simply a sarcastic err, overtone. I believe what you've suggested to key in only affects quarter notes, not what I'm looking for. Anyway, I'll check my PM...BTW, the tune I'm working on is Mr Magic, its sorta a jam up bubble gum jazz/funk/blues sorta ditty.

2008 w/real drums. The style is a funk blues sorta deal which lends itself to punches, shots and rests...
