How to add a desktop shortcut to the task bar
Is there a way to add an icon to open the desktop to the taskbar? I am using Win7. I seem to remember Vista having one. I often have several programs running at the same time, and when I want to get to the desktop, I have to click the minimize button in the top right corner for every one of them. It would be so nice to just click an icon to get there.

I was under the impression the show desktop icon was standard issue on Win 7 taskbars. I know mine has one, and I didn't put it there. It's a little blue square all the way to the far right, opposite the start button on the left side. It's not in the "icons and notifications" list when I open the taskbar customization area, so I assumed it was there by default.

The Show Desktop button the the far right of the taskbar is a standard component of Windows 7.

I see it now, but who would ever assume that's what the rectangle was? It looks like a right border to the task bar.
But thanks for letting me know.
