That's good'n, Joachim. My favorites on that album are "Who Put The Garlic in the Glue?" and "Get a Grip".

Their follow up album, Workshop is great, too, with songs like "RC Cola and a Moon Pie" and "Get That Gasoline"

I love NRBQ. Saw them at 1st Ave in Minnepolis in about '88. It was the Execute Cabbage Patch Dolls tour. They would execute a Cabbage Patch doll in a different way at every show. Tar and feather was this one. Oh, and the music was pretty great also. Grooves In Orbit, among many others could be my favorite today.
Mullen RP D10, Peavey NV112, Hilton volume. Hound Dog reso. Piles of other stuff.

Nrbq

I went to see the Time Jumpers at the Birchmere on Sunday. I coincidently was wearing an NRBQ shirt that evening. When I met most of the band members after the show, several of them, including Vince Gill, commented on how much they love NRBQ and Big Al Anderson.

Sadly, these didn't make the cut, yet the spirit of Bill Murray's lounge singer remains ....

Judging from some opinions expressed on this Forum, it may have ended well before then.

I am pretty sure I could listen to "Lubbock" (and "Juarez," for that matter) on a continuous loop until the End Times...

I'm a big fan of Anthem of the Sun, too--side 1 only. Got no use for side 2. Same is true for Aoxomoxoa--and only in the original mix. (Among many other things, What were they thinking cutting the a capella barbershop harmony coda to "Doin' That Rag"? :x)

Marty's new album is truly an "album" in the old school sense of the word.
A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

Agreed Brooks,

It's my current favorite now as well, it's like an onion, the more times you listen the more you hear as your peel away the layers. So we'll done, kudos to Larry Campbell.

Top is The Beatles "Abbey Road". A close second is Steve Reich "Music for 18 Musicians".

I still listen to both of these albums a lot. Beatles going to a gig, and 18 driving home.

Well, if this is one of those stuck on a desert island ones - with only a stereo, and a convenient wall jack to plug it into - I think I'd like the audio book version of "How to build a boat out of coconuts." Other than that, it MIGHT be Bach's, (via Heinrich Szeryng) "Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin." Da pup really tears 'em up.
