How does one "upload" a file?

Post by steve takacs »

I'm trying to download some Picosong files and am asked to "upload" a file and do not know how to do that.

I did a search and came up with this link but I not quite understand it:

http://www.ehow.com/how_5619369_upload- ... bsite.html

Would someone please explain in simpleton language how to upload a file? Thanks, stevet

Steve when you upload, it means that you are transferring a file from your computer to their computer. When you push the upload button in Picosong, a window should pop up showing files on your computer. Then you go to where you have stored the file, and click on it. Then you are uploading the file to Picosong.

I cannot imagine why a website with downloads would require one to upload something from their computer before downloading from that website. That is totally wrong. Are you sure you didn't accidentally hit the Upload button?

Download means to transfer a file or files from a remote internet location to your current computing device (PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet, smart TV).

Upload means to send a file or files from your device (computer) to a remote Internet location.

It's a music hosting/sharing site, for people to upload stuff and be provided a url to "share" what has been uploaded.

If you have a url to a song there, you can simply open it in a browser to listen/download the song; you don't have to "upload" anything first.

Bent, Wiz and Dave, thanks for the help. I was using the TABLATURE section and and wanted to hear the audio example was puzzled when it said to "upload an audio file".(See below)

Further down though it said "click here to download your file""
picosong
upload an audio file, get a short url to play it!
← Don't want to download? Go back and stream the song instantly!
Patty Loveless/Al Perkins - steel solo - Crazy Arms
Filename: Perkins solo.mp3 Size: 0.49 MB
click here to download your file
(If file streams instead of download, try
right clicking the link and saving the file.)
